Coronavirus Update (COVID-19) Colorado Update

By: Staff

While we usually suggest our patients to come in when they aren't feeling well and get an adjustment to boost their immune system, we are asking anyone who feels symptoms or has been around someone with a fever, cough, shortness of breath or has difficulty breathing type-symptoms to not come into the office.

The first case of COVID-19 was confirmed in Colorado and we want to take every precaution as a busy business to do our part in not spreading this virus.

Below is some information on COVID-19:

WHO'S AT RISK? Everyone really...but those who are most at risk are infants and babies, pregnant women, and those with compromised immune systems. The virus is thought to spread mainly from person-to-person contact.

COVID-19 is an AIRBORNE VIRUS: Those within 6 feet of you can give it to you through respiratory droplets produced by sneezing or coughing. Those droplets can land in the mouth or noses or people nearby and can possibly be inhaled into the lungs.

Can the virus be spread even if someone may not be showing symptoms?  The virus is through to be the most contagious when one is the most symptomatic (peak sickness), but spread is still possible even if you are not showing symptoms.

How can we prevent spreading the virus?

Try and AVOID being around sick people.

DO NOT TOUCH your face, mouth, eyes, nose, or any other membranous cavities with unwashed hands.

STAY AT HOME IF YOU'RE FEELING SICK OR EVEN NOT FEELING 100%. When your immune system is weak, your chances of contracting and spreading any illness is at a greater risk.

FEMALES - Please keep in mind our immune systems are weakened during out menstrual cycle. As always, when you sneeze or cough, make sure to do it in your ELBOW.

Wash your hands VERY OFTEN (for at least 30 seconds or sing the ABC's).
